He went on to a lot of land about 11 2 miles from the center of town, felled and cleared a few acres, then built him a house which was a part of the house in which he died. He was a very industrious man, a kind husband and father, a good neighbor, benevolent to the poor, a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, and accumulated a good property.
