Note	So much to write about Lela.Lela married Charles McGinty in 1915. 1920 census lists Charles and his son Charles living in Portland. Spouse's name is listed as Ellen. Is Ellen really Lela? Or another person?1930 census finds Lela living with her husband and son and mother on Pleasant Street in Portland. Charles is 13. Between 1930 and 1940 Lela and Charles go their separate ways. I suspect it is after 1932. Her mother dies in 1932. I do not find a divorce record. Charles, Lela's first husband, dies in 1955.Either her husband, Charles, raises their son, Charles. Or her family in Livermore raise him. 1935 directory lists her as living in Portland. 1940 census finds her son, Charles, living in Livermore as a boarder. The family has surnames I do not recognize. But, a tell-tale sign they are family is the granddaughter is named Lela.By 1940 George Woodman Record and his 10 year old daughter, Ermalene, "board" with Lela on Highland Street in Bridgton. They stay together until he dies. This home is across from Highland Park and the town beach. It was 2 homes, both painted red. One of the homes has been torn down in recent years.George and Lela move with his son, George and family, to 10 Grant Street in Westbrook. They, along with Mary's father, live in the home. This home is a duplex. George and Mary rent 2 rooms to a mom and son. On the 1st floor is a porch, kitchen, toilet under the stairs, and living room. On the 2nd floor is a bathroom and 5 bedrooms. The house has a full basement.George dies in 1952. Lela continues living with the Record family until she marries Fred Alexander in 1960, Ermalene's father-in-law. Lela waitressed in Portland and Bridgton. In my life I have no recollection of Lela talking about or visiting with her family - parents or siblings. She did not visit or correspond with her family - the Kincaids or Wings - who lived in the Livermore area. If I remember correctly I've met Lela's son and family on 2 occasions - at a visit in Bridgton, and Charles, Phyllis and 2 daughters attend Lela's funeral. They came to the house in Sandy Creek after the service and visited with the family. By the time I am born Lela has gray hair, which she dies a whiter, brighter shade. She wears red lipstick. And she has a gold tooth. She smokes cigarettes.
